All Inclusive Bahamas Vacation Special PackageI received a all inclusive Bahamas vacation special offer in the mail a few years ago. I would get a free Bahamas vacation package with several days in Florida, if I agreed to sit through a 90 minute timeshare presentation. Well, at the time, I was desperate for a getaway and a free Bahamas vacation sounded very appealing to me. I accepted the offer, bought my airfare and began to look forward to my Bahamas vacation. I figured that I could easily sit through 90 minutes of a Bahamas vacation, say no, and be done with it. It would be worthwhile. I would love to visit the Caribbean some time. Everything about it is appealing, the long white beaches, crystal clear water and the friendliness of the people. I'd take in a cricket match, do a little bird watching and find a good steel drum band. My preferred plan would be to go on a all inclusive Bahamas vacation deal. So, the time came for my all inclusive Bahamas vacation. I had been promised a luxury hotel, free transportation and tickets to some happenings. My husband and I were excited, but he was very skeptical. He kept reminding me that this would turn out to be something other than I was expecting but was looking forward to his time in the sun. I was praising myself for landing such an amazing Bahamas vacation offer. We were to take a day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to the Bahamas and then would be greeted. There is such a lot to see and do on these islands. You can charter a boat and go on an island hop tour. That should keep you busy, there are over 700 islands at the last count. There are many ways in which to explore on a Bahamas vacation. You can rent a car, scooter or a bicycle (British driving regulations apply), or take a taxi. There are ferry services, including a fast service and it's also possible to take the slow route on the mailboat. Guided tours can be arranged. Nassau, on New Providence Island, is the exciting capital city. It's a casino town and there is plenty of nightlife with live shows and clubs, and opportunities to learn about the history of the islands. There's some great restaurants and hotels too. I was expecting the cruise to be incredibly nice because that is what I had been told. Instead, I felt like I was on a tour boat with lots of others crowded into a small area. I was not very impressed. We spent the day with horrible entertainment and expensive food, fighting for a spot in the sun. My all inclusive Bahamas vacation special package wasn't starting off too wonderfully. I didn't want my husband to know that I was starting to have doubts, so I played it off. He knows me better though. The islands are a paradise if you want a sporty time. Keen scuba divers and snorkellers love to go on a Bahamas vacation. There are 29 different locations where divers like to go and take advantage of the visibility in the water. They're rewarded with fabulous reefs, caves and numerous shipwrecks. Sharks are a common sight and you can go on trips for swimming with dolphins. Fishing is another favorite activity here, including deep-sea fishing, flat fishing and bonefishing. You can charter a boat or stay in a fishing lodge. It's worth noting that spear fishing and spear guns are against the law here on a Bahamas vacation. Finally, we arrived at the port in the Bahamas. We found where we were to check in and were driven to our designated hotel. I couldn't wait to see what the hotel was like. However, my Bahamas vacation was still not going well. The hotel was far from luxury. It was nice, but not something I would have paid to stay at expecting a luxurious stay. I was very disappointed. However, I was determined to make the most of my Bahamas vacation and enjoy it. We did the normal touristy things and spent lots of time in the sun. I begged him to go on the dolphins excursion and he agreed. We actually got to swim with the dolphins - and it was wonderful. That was the best part of my Bahamas vacation. There are plenty other sports to pursue including golf on some of the finest courses. A Bahamas vacation is ideal for any sort of water sport, yachting or tennis. There's even a Conch Cracking Championship held every year! The Exumas is a favorite haunt for yacht enthusiasts and sport fishermen. It has been the location for two James Bond films, Thunderball and Never Say Never Again. Christopher Columbus landed on San Salvador in 1492, on what was the top of a submerged mountain. It's a good location for experienced divers, looking for wreaks. Bird watchers like to go to The Berry Islands, where pelicans and terns nest. The day of the timeshare meeting arrived and we showed up for our 90 minute meeting. The speeches were very long and pushy and lasted for almost 3 hours. I almost felt as if they wouldn't let us leave until someone took the bait. After 3 agonizing hours, my husband had had enough. He stood up and said that we were leaving. My Bahamas vacation was not exactly what I'd been hoping for.
